Indian Dried Gooseberry (Amla)

Bay leaf

Red Chili Powder
0 As per taste

Garam masala
2 tbsp
Cumin Coriander Powder

Turmeric powder
1 1/2 cup
Tomato Puree
1/2 cup
Finely chopped onion
3 tbsp
Crushed Garlic & Ginger
1 1/2 cup
Onion Paste
1 cup
Wheat Flour
1 cup
All purpose flour
Chole Bhature


  1. Soak the Chickpeas in water for at least 8-10 Hours. After that add chickpeas, 2 cups water, 1 tbsp salt, Bay Leaf, Indian dried gooseberry in a pressure cooker. 5 – 6 pressure cooker whistles are enough.
  2. In a pan add oil, Cumin Finely Chopped onion And onion paste. Saute onions well. After that add Crushed Garlic & Ginger and saute.
  3. Add tomato puree, 2-3 tbsp water and cook it for 3-4 minutes.
  4. When tomato puree is completely cooked add all the spices (Red chili powder, cumin coriander powder, Garam masala) cook it on the slow flame for at least 1 minute. add chickpeas and 1/2 cup water cover the lead and cokk it for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  5. For Bhature : Knead the whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, 2 tbsp oil and salt together with adequate amount of cold water. Leave it for 1-2 hours for the rest. Divide it into equal portions. Roll out in an oval or round shape. Deep fry it in a hot oil on medium flame. Serve it Hot with Chole.
