Coriander Seeds
1 1/2 tsp
Fennel Seeds
1 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds
2 tbsp
1 tbsp
Grated Ginger
1 tbsp
Finely Chopped Green Chili
0 As per taste
1/4 cup

Dry Mango Powder
1 tbsp
Red Chili Powder
1/2 tsp
Garam masala
1/4 tsp
Garlic Powder
2 Cups
Oil (To Deep Fry)
Khasta Kachori
  1. In a bowl take moong dal wash it and soak it for 2-3 hours.
  2. After that remove extra water and coarsely grind it.
  3. In another bowl take all purpose flour, ghee and 1 tsp salt.
  4. Add adequate water and kneed the dough. Keep it aside for half an hour.
  5. In a pan add oil, coriander seeds, fennel seeds and cumin seeds. Saute it for 2 minutes on a slow flame.
  6. Add Grated ginger and finely chopped green chili. Saute it for 1 minute.
  7. Add red chili powder, salt, garam masala and garlic powder (optional). Mix it well and saute it for another 1 minute.
  8. After that add besan and mix well.
  9. Saute it for 1 minute.
  10. Add moong dal and mix it. Saute it for 1-2 minute (until dry).
  11. Turn off flame and add dry mango powder.
  12. Let it be cool. Take a small portion of dough. roll it. Place 1-2 tbsp moong dal mixture in it.
  13. Cover it and using fingers press it gently. Give it a round shape.
  14. Deep fry it in a hot oil.
  15. Serve it with Sweet chutney, onion and besan sev.
